  To ensure your Sony VCR operates correctly when powered on, verify that the TV is set to the video channel or, if using a monitor, set it to video input. Also, if the VCR is connected to the TV only with the aerial cable, make sure that RF MODULATOR in the OPTIONS menu is set to ON. If the VCR was disconnected from the mains for more than one hour, reset the clock and timer. If moisture condensation occurs, turn the power off, unplug the mains lead, and allow the VCR to dry for over one hour.

  If the playback picture does not appear on the TV screen when using your Sony VCR, try adjusting the tracking with the TRACKING +/– buttons. If the video heads are dirty, clean them using the Sony T-25CLD, E-25CLDR, or T25CLW video head cleaning cassette. You may also need to adjust the vertical hold control on the TV or monitor. If the issue persists, the video heads may need replacement; consult your local Sony service facility for assistance.

Ensure the decoder and satellite tuner are turned on. If the VCR was disconnected from the mains for more than one hour, reset the clock and timer.
