USING
THE
SQD-2020
After
you
have
connected
all
of
the
components
in
your
system
and
adjusted
the
levels,
your
SQ
system
is
ready
for
operation.
Sound
Reproduction
1.
Check
that
the
front
amplifier’s
monitor
switch
is
set
to
TAPE.
If
you
connect
the
back
channel
output
to
the
preamp
section
of
the
back
amplifier,
set
the
controls
as
follows:

that
the
front

amplifier’s
volume
and
FRONT
and
BACK

controls

Turn
the
MASTER
VOLUME
fully
counterclockwise,
then
turn
on
the
SQD-2020,
and
the
front
and
back
amplifiers.
4.
Keep
the
MODE
selector
of
the
front
amplifier
set
to
STEREO,
and
that
of
the
SQD-2020
set
to
NORMAL.

Select
your
desired
program
source
as
follows:
ORecord,
tuner,
and
auxiliary
sources
connected
to
the
front
amplifier
Set
the
SQD-2020’s
MONITOR
selector
to
SOURCE
and
set
the
front
amplifier’s
function
selector
to
the
desired
input
program.
OTwo-channel
tape
Set
the
SQD-2020’s
MONITOR
SELECTOR
to
2
CH
TAPE.
Keep
the
DISCRETE
switch
released.
OFour-channel
tape
Set the
SQD-2020’s
MONITOR
SELECTOR
to
4
CH
TAPE.
OOther
discrete
program
sources
Set the
SQD-2020’s
MONITOR
SELECTOR
to
SOURCE
or
2
CH
TAPE,
and
push
in
the
DISCRETE
switch.
6.
Play
the
program.
When
playing
records,
tuners,
auxiliary
sources,
or
two-channel
tapes,
select
the
desired
reproduction
system
as
follows:
OTo
play
any
SQ
program
source,
push
the
SQ
switch
in.
OTo
play
any
other
matrix
four-channel
program
source,
push
the
R-MTX
switch
in.
OTo
play
conventional
two-channel
programs
in
two-channel
sound,
push
the
2
CH
switch
in.
To
listen
to
them-~
simulated
four-channel
sound,
use
either
SQ,
R-MTX
or
2-
-
as
you
prefer.
7.
Adjust
the
MASTER
VOLUME
and
tone
controls
to
your
pre-
ference.
if
the
back
amplifier
has
tone
controls,
set
the
back
amplifier’s
tone
controls
to
the
position
which
provides
a
fiat
response,
and
adjust
the
back-channel
tone
with
the
SQD-
2020's
TONE
controls.
