Why does stereo broadcast sound switch on and off or is distorted on my Sony Trinitron KV-XF34 TV?

If the stereo broadcast sound on your Sony TV switches on and off, is distorted, or frequently switches between monaural and stereo, check the antenna cable and its connection on the TV, VCR, and the wall for any looseness or damage. Also, adjust the antenna direction. If the issue persists, the broadcast signal might have a transmission problem, so try pressing the MTS button until a better sound is heard.
