Initial ignition Flow Control V start (ON/OFF Control Burner)
Open the manual shut-off valve to start the burner.
When the burner is ignited and normal operation, adjust the load and combustion state.
Check if the desired gas flow rate is achieved with the gas flow meter, and adjust the appropriate gas flow rate.
To maintain a stable combustion state, adjust the gas or air flow while checking the following points.
- Does ignition and combustion proceed without backfire?
- Are there any catching or vibrational combustion during ignition or combustion?
- Is it the optimum combustion state? CO2 concentration shall be 2~3% lower than theoretically calculated maximum CO2 concentration, CO
concentration shall be below 0.1%.
The slow open gas valve has a very long opening time of up to 20 seconds. Therefore, at the moment when power is supplied to the gas
valve, ignition is possible only when a certain amount of gas or more (initial ignition flow rate “V start”) passes through the gas valve. This is
because enough gas to ignite must reach the combustion head within 2 seconds of safety shut down.
Therefore, V start can be adjusted from 0 to 75%, and if possible, it must be adjusted in an increasing direction to reduce the probability of
ignition failure. However, if it is increased too much, a pressure pulsation phenomenon occurs in which the pressure in the gas pipe instantly
drops at the moment of ignition, the gas pressure lower limit switch operates, and the burner may stop and restart again.
