Mattress Stop Assembly
Tools Required: 5/32” Allen Key
There is one type of bolt-on mattress stop which is mounted on the Foot Deck, depending on the presence
of the extender kit. Please refer to the table below. All mattress stops must point upwards.
All mattress stops are secured with 1/4-20 Button Head Hex Socket Cap Screws.
WARNING! Entrapment Safety: Use only the proper size boards and mattress to minimize the
Entrapment Zone gaps. The gaps must be small enough to prevent the patient from getting his/her
neck caught in this location (you must read the FDA Entrapment Guidelines). The entrapment
zones are a resultant of the dimensional interaction between the bed and components that are
often assembled by the Healthcare Facility and not the Manufacturer.
NOTE: The Healthcare Facility is responsible for compliance with the Entrapment Guidelines by matching
the right components and accessories to the right bed.
