A stack of optical fibers imaged on the entrance slit can each carry separate spectral
signals from various locations. All of the signals will be captured by the detector during
the same exposure time.
Alternatively, a

slice" of a sample or reaction can be imaged directly into the entrance
slit. The 270M provides the two-dimensional image quality required to study the
spatial/spectral profile of a flame, or other source that exhibits a varied distribution of
spectral signals.
