How to fix a Stanley SHP 2000 that will not turn on?
    • N
      Nicholas WoodJul 28, 2025
First, ensure the Stanley Pressure Washer is in the “OFF” position. Then, plug the electrical cord into a grounded 120 volt outlet, avoiding any extension cords. If the plug doesn't fit, the outlet may not be properly grounded, so try a different outlet. If the issue persists, try another electrical outlet. If it's still not working, please contact Customer Service.

What to do if my Stanley SHP 2000 Pressure Washer turns on for 2 seconds, shuts off, and won't turn back on?

It sounds like your Stanley Pressure Washer is functioning as expected. When properly connected to a water source and assembled, it may briefly turn on for 1-2 seconds to prime the pump. It then shuts off, waiting for the spray gun trigger to be activated. Pressing the trigger initiates water flow, which the pump's water sensor detects, automatically turning the pressure washer back on. Alternatively, turn the power switch off, hold the trigger on the spray gun to ensure a steady water stream, and simultaneously turn the power switch back on.

What to do if my Stanley Pressure Washer is running but there is no water flow?

Check the water source connected to your Stanley Pressure Washer. Also, try to unclog the nozzle on the lance, referring to the nozzle cleaning instructions. Alternatively, remove the nozzle and spray directly from the spray gun and lance to determine if the nozzle is the problem.

Why is water leaking where the high pressure hose connects to the spray gun on my Stanley SHP 2000 Pressure Washer?
    • J
      Jacqueline RomanAug 19, 2025
Ensure there is an o-ring at the end of the metal tip of the high-pressure hose on your Stanley Pressure Washer. If the o-ring is missing, it will cause a leak between the hose and spray gun. Replacement o-rings are included in the package contents.
