What to do if my Star STL001 Water Pump runs but does not empty the sink?

  If the Star Water Pump runs but doesn't empty the sink, several issues could be the cause. First, the drain might be clogged; clear the drain screen. Second, the discharge line could be blocked; unplug the pump and clear the discharge line. Third, the shut-off valve might be closed; slightly open the shut-off valve. Also, the system discharge line may be too high or too long; unplug the pump and reduce the height or length of the discharge line (11 ft. max. height). Finally, the check valve might be installed backward; ensure the flow arrow on the check valve points away from the pump.
