SPARK PLUG CHECK
Spark plug check
The spark plug is one of the most important
engine components, and it is easy to check its
condition. As heating and scaling cause
gradual damage of the spark plugs, they should
be removed and checked in accordance with
the regular maintenance and lubrication table.
Besides, the spark plugs condition shows the
engine condition.
To remove the spark plugs:
● remove the spark plug metal segment
● remove the spark plug using a plug wrench
from the tool kit
To check the spark plugs:
● the ceramic insulator around the plug central
electrode should be light-yellow-brown
(perfect color with the normal vehicle operation).

Spark plug color changes to blackish
(scaling or greasing) may indicate the
engine fault. Do not try to diagnose the
cause by yourself. In this case, contact the
repair workshop to check the vehicle engine.

● check the spark plug for electrode erosion signs,
excessive deposits, scale and, if necessary,
replace the spark plug.
Recommended spark plugs:
NGK DСPR 7E
To install the spark plugs:
● measure the electrode gap using a feeler gage
and, if necessary, adjust it.
The electrode gap:
0.6 - 0.8 mm

● clean the spark plug spacer and mating surface,
then wipe off all the dirt from the high-voltage
wires.
● install the spark plug with a plug wrench and
tighten it with a recommended torque.
The recommended spark plug
tightenin torque: 17.5 Nm

If there is no torque wrench when installing the
spark plugs, the correct tightening torque may
be reached by turning the plugs by 1/4-1/2 turn
after manual tightening. However, in this case
the spark plug should be retightened with the
recommended torque as soon as possible.

● Set the high-voltage wire tip on the spark plug.
Engine oil and oil filter
The oil level should be checked before every trip.
In addition, the oil and oil filter should be replaced
at the intervals indicated in the regular maintenance
and lubrication table.
Recommended engine oils: 10W-40 SF
To check the engine oil level:
● park the vehicle on a flat horizontal surface.
● check the engine oil level on a cold engine.

If the engine was started before the oil check,
wait for 10 minutes, until the oil starts setting
down. Now the oil level measurement will be
reliable.
