AlphaCom XE - Installation, Conguration & Operation
A100K10805
Multi-Module Network7
Overview7.1
If the number of subscriber lines in one AlphaCom XE26 (138 lines) is
exceeded, up to 4 modules can be combined to form a multi-module unit
with a maximum capacity of 552 lines.
The multi-module concept uses one master module and up to three
slave modules. The multi-module acts as one server with full integration
of all features. All conguration data is stored on the Master AMC board.
The connection between the modules is via an IP network similar to
AlphaNet.
Multi-module is recommended when the modules are located in the
same building/complex.
AlphaNet is recommended when the modules are located apart from
each other
Main features of AlphaCom XE IP-based Multi-Module:
Same high degree of feature integration as conventional multi-
modules
No additional AlphaCom hardware required
License is needed in the master module only
Point-to-point connections
(not in a ring as in conventional multi-modules)
The modules need to be on the same LAN
Optional Autonomic mode
The AMC Master can be set to copy its contents to the slave -
modules over a 28 hour period
In case of master-slave communication error, the slave will restart -
in autonomic mode, making it possible to communicate normally
within each module.
Installation 7.2
Interconnect the modules via an Ethernet switch as shown in the
gure.
Perform a cold start on each module separately
