11.5 Safety concept
The units have a safety concept that consists of a sealed housing, fan and vacuum box.
The permanently running fan creates a negative pressure in the unit. The negative pressure is monitored
by a pressure cell. If the fan fails or the housing is not sufficiently tight, the pressure box switches off the
heat pump.
In the event of a leak in the refrigerant circuit, refrigerant escapes. This is directed into the installation
room via an integrated fan. The fan generates a convection to mix the refrigerant with air. This keeps the
air/refrigerant mixture below the ignition limit.
