N Use resistor type spark plugs with a
properly tightened adapter nut.
Installing the spark plug
N Screw home the spark plug, fit the
boot (3) and press it down firmly.
N Fit the shroud (2).
N Insert the screws (1) and tighten
them down firmly.
If engine running behavior is
unsatisfactory even though the air filter
is clean and the carburetor and throttle
cable are properly adjusted, the cause
may be the muffler.
Have the muffler checked by a servicing
dealer for contamination
(carbonization).
STIHL recommends that you have
servicing and repair work carried out
exclusively by an authorized STIHL
servicing dealer.
Use STIHL gear lubricant (special
accessory) for lubrication.
N Check grease level about every 100
hours of operation.
N Unscrew the filler plug (1). If no
grease can be seen on the inside of
the filler plug, screw the tube of
lubricant (2) into the filler hole.
N Squeeze up to 5 g grease into the
gearbox.
NOTICE
Do not completely fill the gearbox with
grease.
N Refit the filler plug and tighten it
down firmly.
