Fabric Filter with Foam Filter
Fabric filter
N Remove and inspect the fabric filter
(3) – replace if damaged.
N Knock out the fabric filter on a
suitable surface or blow it clear with
compressed air from the clean air
side.
If filter is caked with dirt:
N Wash the fabric filter in STIHL
special cleaner or a clean, non-
flammable solution (e.g. warm
soapy water) and then dry.
N Refit the clean fabric filter.
Foam filter
N Remove the foam filter (4) from the
filter cover and inspect it replace if
damaged.
N Wash the foam filter in STIHL
special cleaner or a clean, non-
flammable solution (e.g. warm
soapy water) and then dry.
N Coat dry foam filter uniformly with
STIHL or Oelheld air filter oil (see
“Special Accessories”) and knead it
gently. Repeat the process as
necessary until oil drips from the
filter.
New foam filters come impregnated with
filter oil.
N Fit the foam filter in the filter cover.
N Refit the filter cover.
Paper Filter (Special Accessory)
The paper filter – see "Special
Accessories" – may be used in place of
the fabric filter and foam filter
combination.
N Remove and check the paper
filter (5) – replace if dirty or
damaged.
N Install the paper filter in the filter
cover.
N Refit the filter cover.
