6 General Power Tool Safety Warnings and Instructions
6.4 General Safety Warnings and Instructions for
the Following STIHL KombiTool: BG-KM Blower
This chapter contains the prescribed general safety
instructions for handheld, motor-operated electric blowers
contained in UL 1017. Additional important warnings and
instructions are provided in subsequent chapters of this
manual.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using an electric blower, basic precautions should
always be followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE
BLOWER!
WARNING
￭ To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:
– Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is
necessary when used by or near children.
– Use only as described in this manual. Use only
manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
– Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any
opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and
anything that may reduce air flow.
– Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body
away from openings and moving parts.
– Turn off all controls before unplugging.
– Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
– Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids,
such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be
present.

PowerSweep and KB-KM Bristle Brush
This section contains the prescribed general safety
warnings and instructions for handheld, motor-operated
electric power sweeps or bristle brushes contained in UL 73.
Additional important warnings and instructions are provided
in subsequent sections of this manual.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING
When using electric power sweeps or bristle brushes, basic
safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the
risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury, including the
following:
a)Read all the instructions before using the appliance.
b)To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is necessary
when an appliance is used near children.
c)Do not contact moving parts.
d)Only use attachments recommended or sold by the
manufacturer.
e)Use only the charger supplied by the manufacturer to
recharge.
