11 Installing the Perimeter Wire
11.3 Measuring Wire Clearances with the
iMowRuler
The perimeter wire(1) can be routed next to surfaces such
as patios and paths as long as the surface is flat, level with
the grass, and allows the robotic mower to travel unimpeded
by obstacles. If necessary, the robotic mower may travel
with one rear wheel outside the mowing area. The maximum
height difference between lawn area and obstacle must not
exceed 0.8in. (2cm).
The iMowRuler is designed to help you maintain the proper
the clearances when installing the perimeter wire. It will help
you quickly and easily measure the following distances:
A=8.7in. (22cm)
To ensure that the robotic mower runs without contacting
any obstacle:
Keep a minimum clearance of the length of the iMowRuler
(A=8.7in. (22cm)) from obstacles.
If routing the perimeter wire in confined areas, keep a
minimum clearance of two times the length of the
iMowRuler (17.4in. (44cm)), @ 11.4.
B=2.4in. (6cm)
Minimum distance to be maintained between an
obstacle and the perimeter wire.
