: Insert a new spring housing with the
bottom upwards – guide the outer
spring loop round the lug
: Replace the rope rotor
: Tension the rewind spring
: Refit the starter cover and screw it
into place
If the spring has popped out of the
spring housing:
: Replace it, working
counterclockwise, from the outside
inwards
: The arrow on the tensioning nut (1)
must point to "0"
: Turn the tensioning nut
counterclockwise approx. 1/4 turn
as far as the stop = "0" with a
combination wrench
: Unscrew the hexagon bolts (2)
: Remove the V-belt guard and
bearing with guard
: Unscrew the screws (3) in the
starter cover
: Remove the starter cover and
cover (4)
: Remove the defective V-belt from
the cast arm
: Carefully insert a new V-belt in the
cast arm and in the V-belt pulley on
the engine
: Hold the bearing with guard against
the cast arm
