Can I use batteries other than those supplied like, for example, two NiMH connected in parallel instead of a
lead battery?
No. Batteries should NEVER be connected in parallel. A greater input would create a greater output and this would
occur without any voltage regulation, with all that available, triggering effects that could be devastating. NEVER
CONNECT BATTERIES IN PARALLEL!
Should I usually fully deplete batteries?
No. Lead batteries have no memory effect. Each depletion is one less life cycle.
How can I tell what the battery efficiency is? If I have to plan a dive, how can I be sure that the battery
charge provides a certain autonomy?
For this reason, there is a completely automatic tool that simulates electrical scooter absorption during operations
and depletes the battery to a set residual voltage. When finished, the length of output in minutes is displayed. This
data gives you an idea on battery "health" letting you plan correct use. (see “burn tester” accessories).
Never use other discharge systems.
41. BATTERY STORAGE
Before the storage period the battery must be fully charged. The battery must be disconnected from any external
load including the charger, extracted from the DPV and placed in a dry, cool environment away from any
inflammable object. Charge the battery every two monts weather or not is fully charged.
42. TRANSPORTATION
TRANSPORT OF THE BATTERY OUT OF THE DPV:
In order to transport a Li-ion battery out of the DPV (alone) a specific packaging must be used.
Battery cannot be transported by air on a passenger craft and can be air shipped on an
AIR CARGO only.
The li-ion battery is class 9 classified for transportation
Refer to UN3840 and IATA packaging instructions PI-965.
Refer to your forwarder for detailed information.
TRANSPORT OF THE BATTERY INSIDE THE DPV:
Refer to UN3841 and IATA packaging instructions PI-966 when transporting the battery inside the DPV.
The DPV with Li-ion battery cannot be transported on a passeger craft as checked baggage.
Refer to your forwarder for detailed information.
