MAINTENANCE AFTER INITIAL 50 5.3
HOURS OF OPERATION
After the initial 50 hours of operation, the following
maintenance actions are required to eliminate
contaminants from the system:
Clean the return line orice and change the strainer.1.
Change the compressor uid lter.2.
Check the 3. Engine Operator’s Manual for service
requirements.
Check the fuel lter for water.4.
Conrm that the sump cover bolts are tightened to 160 5.
lb-ft (215N•m).

Inspect air lter elements and replace if necessary.1.
Check the fuel lter for water. 2.
MAINTENANCE EVERY 100 5.5
HOURS
Clean the radiator and cooler exterior surfaces.1.

requirements.
MAINTENANCE EVERY 250 5.6
HOURS
Check fan belt tension.1.
Clean the radiator and cooler exterior surfaces. 2.
(Where dust and other atmospheric contaminants are
present, it might be necessary to clean these parts
more frequently.)
Check the 3. Engine Operator’s Manual for service
requirements.
Change the engine oil and lter. 4.
Change the compressor uid if it is not Sullair AWF: 5.
Run the compressor for ve to ten minutes to a.
warm the uid.
Shut the compressor down and relieve all internal b.
pressure.
Drain the uid sump by removing the plug, or c.
opening the valve at the bottom of the sump tank.
Remove any dirt from the uid lter cap before d.
lling the sump.
Fill the sump with uid in accordance with the e.
specications in Section 3.
Clean or replace the return line strainer.6.
Change the air lter primary elements.7.
Change the compressor uid lter.8.
Clean the return line orice.9.
Change the fuel lter. (If the lter tends to clog more 10.
often than what is expected, change the lter more
frequently.)
Change the engine fuel/water separator.11.
Check the engine rpm idle speed. The idle speed 12.
should be at the specied minimum idle speed listed in
Section 3.
MAINTENANCE EVERY 1500 5.7
HOURS
If the compressor uid is Sullair AWF, change the uid 1.
and replace the uid lter element. (See Compressor
Fluid Filter Element Replacement on page 65).
Service the engine cooling system.2.
Lubricate axle bearings on wheel-mounted units. 3.
NOTE
The uid change period varies by
uid brand, Refer to the Lubrication
Guide – Compressor on page 56.
WARNING
Operating the compressor at below
its minimum specied idle speed will
damage the compressor. Operating
the compressor in this condition will
cause coupling and/or compressor
failure.
