VIEWING A REPORT
1. Browse to the folder that holds the report.
Use the "My Documents" or "My Computer"
browsers provided with Windows(c).
2. Locate the report file. If it ends with ".txt",
simply double-click it to open. Most PC's are
set up to use "Notepad" as the text file editor.
See Figure 5-9.
3. Use the menu "Format" > "Font" to select a
suitable font for viewing. Text reports are
generally best when viewed with a fixed font.
"Courier New" and "8pt" are a good selection
initially.
4. This is a text version of the on-screen infor-
mation normally viewed with WSPC. Refer
to sections of this manual for a complete
description.
5. Additional text may be inserted by clicking on
the desired point in the report, and simply
typing. When complete, click "File" > "Save
as", and give the file a new name to preserve
the original data.
5.3 COMMUNICATIONS PORT
Use the "Com Port" menu item to select different
communications ports on the PC. In most cases, a
PC will use its first communications port (COM1) as
the connection to external devices like the WS
controller. However, some PC's may have additional
ports already assigned to other devices. WSPC
must be set up with the number of the PC port that is
being used to connect to the WS controller. When
this is done, the new port will be saved in the active
user profile.
To select a different port:
1. If the "Connect" indicator in the left bar is
bright green, click on the connect button to
disconnect WSPC.
2. Click on the "Com port" menu item. See Fig-
ure 5-7.
3. WSPC will search and list the ports available
on the PC
4. Click to select the port being used for the
cable to the controller.
