Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR)
with Sewn-On Latch Plate
The latch plate is sewn-on to the vehicle belt
webbing (fig.1). The ALR functions by pulling the
seat belt out at least 24 - 36” to activate the
LOCKING mode (fig.2). Once the locking
mode is activated, the belt should only get
shorter (fig.3).

Locking Latch Plate
When buckled, if the seat belt and latch plate lie
flat, the latch plate will lock (fig.1). If they are
tilted, the latch plate will remain unlocked (fig. 2).
