The mechanical stop screws might be interfering with the output drive gearing; in this case, reset the mechanical end stops and travel cams. A torque overload caused by the valve, often occurring after the valve has been operating for some time, may also be the issue; consider replacing the valve. Ensure you're using the correct power supply. Also, the actuator may be operating too frequently, exceeding its duty cycle rating; adjust the system bandwidth or reduce the frequency.

  The motor may not operate or overheat due to several reasons. It could be that the limit switch for the fully-closed position isn't tripping. Try manually operating the actuator to the fully-closed position to see if the limit switch trips. Another cause might be a jammed pipe or stuck valve seat; inspect the pipe for blockages. Incorrect wiring, specifically power applied to terminals #3 and #4 simultaneously, can also cause this. Ensure the wiring is correct by following the diagram inside the cover. Alternatively, the motor shaft or bearing might be stuck, in which case you should replace the motor. Lastly, increased seating torque of the valve due to oxidized seals can overload the actuator; manually operate it to check, and replace the valve if necessary.
