Problem Probable Causes Troubleshoong Soluons
The hot tub is inoperave • Power failure
• The breaker has tripped
• Heater’s high-limit thermostat has tripped
• Hot tub lock is acvated
• Check for problems with your power source
• Reset the breaker
• Disconnect the power for 30 seconds to reset the thermostat;
then check for clogged lters
• Deacvate the hot tub lock
Hot tub won’t heat, even while the jets
and lights operate
• Air lock was created aer lling with water
• Blocked lters
• Failed air circulaon pump or heater
• Remove air locks by loosening pump and/or heater unions
• Check for blocked lters, try removing lter and see if it heats okay
• Check for water movement
• Put pump on/o quickly about 10 mes to move air in system
Jet operaon is weak or surging • Water level is too low
• Filters are clogged
• Air control lever is closed
• Add water to the hot tub
• Clean the lters
• Open the air control lever
• Turn individual jets if not working
Light is inoperave • Spa lock is acvated
• Light wiring or assembly is faulty
• Deacvate the spa lock
• Replace the light assembly
Flo, Htr dry, Dr, Dy displayed • Filters may be blocked
• Circulaon pump may have failed
• Check and replace/clean lters if needed
• Is the water in the spa moving?
• Put pump on/o quickly about 10 mes to move air in system

• Overused or old water
• Shock spa with sanizer

• Adjust pH &/or alkalinity range

• Drain and rell the hot tub
Water odour • Excessive organics in water
Improper sanisaon
• Low pH
• Shock spa with sanizer
• Add sanizer
• Adjust pH to rec range
Chlorine odour • Chlorine levels too high
• Low pH
• Shock spa with sanizer
• Adjust pH to recommended range
Musty odour • Bacteria or algae growth • Shock spa with saniser
(if problem is visible or persistent, drain, clean and rell the spa)
Organic build up or ring around spa • Build-up of oils and dirt • Wipe o scum with clean rag
(if scum ring around spa is severe, drain the spa, use a spa
surface and le cleaner to remove the scum and rell the spa)
Algae growth • High pH
• Low sanizer level
• Shock spa with sanizer & adjust pH
• Shock spa with sanizer
• Maintain sanizer level
Eye irritaon • Low pH
• Low sanizer level
• Adjust pH
• Shock spa with sanizer
• Maintain sanizer level
Skin irritaon / rash • Unsanitary water
• Free chlorine level above 5ppm
• Shock spa with sanizer
• Maintain sanizer level
• Allow free chlorine level to drop below 5ppm before spa use
Stains • Total alkalinity and pH too low
• High iron or copper in water source
• Adjust total alkalinity and/or pH
• Use a metal deposit inhibitor
Scale • High calcium content in water
• Total alkalinity and pH too high
• Adjust total alkalinity and pH
• If scale requires removal, drain the spa, scrub o the scale,
rell the spa and balance the water
