4-5 Installing Hot-Swappable 3.5" Hard Drives
The SC946ED chassis supports ninety 3.5" hard drives in tooless hard drive carriers
to simplify their removal from the chassis. These carriers also help promote proper
airow through the chassis.
Removing Hard Drive Carriers from the Chassis
1. Open the chassis cover as described in Section 4-3
2. Push the release button on the drive carrier.
3. Use the handle to pull the drive carrier up and out of the chassis.

Warning: Except for short periods of time (while swapping hard drives), do not operate
the server with the drives removed from the chassis drive bays.
