Function Description

The Supersonic SC-2814 is a versatile portable device designed for entertainment on the go. Its primary function is to act as a 14-inch LED television, capable of receiving over-the-air ATSC TV broadcasts and cable TV signals. Beyond its TV capabilities, it also serves as a digital multimedia player, allowing users to enjoy various media files from external storage devices. The device supports multiple input sources, including HDMI, VGA, and AV, making it compatible with a wide range of external media players and devices. Additionally, it features an FM radio receiver, expanding its entertainment options. The built-in rechargeable lithium battery ensures portability, allowing for use in locations without direct power access, such as in vehicles or outdoors.

Usage Features

The SC-2814 offers a user-friendly interface with both on-device controls and a remote control for convenient operation.

Power and Display:

  • Power/Standby: The device can be turned on or placed in standby mode using the POWER button on the unit or the remote. A power indicator light shows the device's status: green when connected to power and in standby, red when charging, and dark when fully charged.
  • TV Display: The 14-inch Color TFT LCD screen provides a clear visual experience for watching TV or multimedia content.

Input Source Management:

  • Mode Button: The MODE button on the device or remote allows users to change the active input source. Pressing it displays a list of modes (TV, VGA, HDMI, AV, FM Radio, MEDIA), which can be browsed using CH+/CH- and selected with OK.
  • Antenna Input: A 75 ohm coaxial connector is provided for TV antennas, with an external magnetic sucker antenna included for improved reception.
  • HD-IN Jack: For connecting external media players via HDMI cable, setting the source mode to HDMI.
  • VGA Input Jack: For connecting devices with VGA output.

  • MTS (Multi-channel Television Sound): Changes the default audio language.
  • CC (Closed Caption): Displays synchronized transcripts of TV programs when available, with options to turn off, always display, or display only when muted.
  • EPG (Electronic Program Guide): If available, allows viewing program guide information for over-the-air ATSC TV broadcasts.

Picture and Sound Settings:

  • Picture Mode: Select from preset picture modes (Standard, Soft, User, Vivid) or customize settings like Color Temperature (Warm, User, Cold), Aspect Ratio (Auto, 4:3, 16:9, Zoom1, Zoom2, Panorama), and Noise Reduction (Close, Low, Middle, High).
  • Sound Mode: Choose from preset equalizer settings (Standard, Music, Movie, Sports, User) or adjust Balance, Auto Volume, Surround Mode (Open/Close), and Audio Only (to turn off the image signal and only hear audio).

Time and Option Settings:

  • Clock: Set the current date and time.
  • Off/On Time: Schedule automatic TV shut-off or turn-on times.
  • Sleep Timer: Set a timer for the TV to automatically turn off.
  • Auto Sync: Synchronizes the system time with the time carried by the antenna signal (cable or air).
  • Time Zone: Adjusts the time zone to match the user's location.
  • OSD Language: Sets the display language for on-screen menus.
  • Setup Wizard: An on-screen guide for initial TV setup, including language, time zone, DST, time format, and channel scanning.
  • Restore Factory Default: Resets all options to their factory settings.
  • TTS (Text to Speech): Converts normal language text to speech.

Parental Control (Lock):

  • Lock System: Enables or disables lock options using a default password (0000).
  • Set Password: Allows users to set a new password for security.
  • Input Block: Blocks TV or AV modes.
  • US/Canada Rating Guidelines: Prevents programs from being viewed based on US TV, MPAA, Canadian English, or French rating guidelines.
  • Reset RRT: Refreshes the Rating Region Table if issues arise with rating guidelines.
  • Unrated: Enables or disables viewing of unrated programs.

FM Radio Receiving:

  • FM Radio Mode: Select "FM Radio" mode using the MODE button.
  • Scan and Save Channels: Press the RED key on the remote to automatically scan and save FM frequency channels.
  • Switch Channels: Use the / buttons to switch between FM channels.
  • Display Screen: Press the GREEN key on the remote to close or open the display screen without affecting radio reception.
  • Channel Selection: Input preset channel numbers to go to desired FM stations, or use arrow keys to browse frequencies.

Multimedia Playback:

  • USB/Memory Card Playback: Insert a USB drive or memory card, select MEDIA from the input menu, and choose Photo, Music, or Movie.
  • Photo Playback: Start a slide show, display previous/next photos.
  • Music Playback: Play music, skip to previous/next tracks.
  • Movie Playback: Play movies, skip to last/next chapters.
  • Repeat Mode: The REP key on the remote allows repeating music or video files.
  • Volume Adjustment: When playing media, press CH▾ to hide the system menu, then use VOL or VOL◄ to adjust the volume. Press OK to return to the system menu.

Built-in Battery:

  • The TV has a built-in rechargeable lithium battery, providing approximately 3 hours of working time after a full charge (about 6.5 hours). The charging indicator changes from red to dark when fully charged.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning: Disconnect power and all cables before cleaning. Use a soft cloth, lightly moistened with water if necessary, to wipe the screen, enclosure, and keys. Avoid rough or abrasive materials, astringents, propellants, or cleaning agents containing alcohol or benzene.
  • Storage: Store the product away from extreme temperatures (20°C to 60°C / -4°F to 140°F).
  • Environmental Conditions: Do not use in damp environments (bathtubs, wash basins, kitchens, basements, swimming pools) or expose to high humidity, dust, or smoke.
  • Handling: Avoid throwing, dropping, strong vibrations, or impacts. Do not puncture or abrade the device.
  • Troubleshooting: If the unit freezes, restart it. If it behaves abnormally, turn it off immediately and contact support or the retailer. The device contains no user-serviceable parts; disassembly or alteration may cause damage or serious injury.
  • Battery Care: For the longest service life, charge the built-in battery at indoor temperatures (5°C to 35°C / 41°F to 95°F). Consult the distributor for proper battery recycling.
