INSPECTION
• Inspect the reed valve for the carbon deposit.
• If the carbon deposit is found in the reed valve, replace the
PAIR reed valve with a new one.
INSTALLATION
• Set new gasket to the PAIR reed valve as shown.
PCV HOSE
• Remove the PCV hose from the crankcase breather cover.
• Inspect the PCV hose for wear or damage.
• If it is worn or damaged, replace the PCV hose with a new
one.
CAMSHAFT
CAMSHAFT IDENTIFICATION
The exhaust camshaft can be distinguished from that of the
intake by the embossed letters “EX” (for exhaust) as against let-
ters “IN” (for intake).
CAM WEAR
• Check the camshaft for wear or damage.
• Measure the cam height H with a micrometer.
Cam height H:
Service Limit: (IN.) : 35.48 mm
(EX.) : 34.68 mm
