3-28 ENGINE
INSPECTION
Inspect the reed valve for the carbon deposit.
If the carbon deposit is found in the reed valve, replace the
PAIR reed valve with a new one.
INSTALLATION
Set new gasket to the PAIR reed valve as shown.
PCV HOSE
Remove the PCV hose from the crankcase breather cover.
Inspect the PCV hose for wear or damage.
If it is worn or damaged, replace the PCV hose with a new
one.
CAMSHAFT
CAMSHAFT IDENTIFICATION
The exhaust camshaft can be distinguished from that of the
intake by the embossed letters “EX” (for exhaust) as against let-
ters “IN” (for intake).
CAM WEAR
Check the camshaft for wear or damage.
Measure the cam height H with a micrometer.
Cam height H:
Service Limit: (IN.) : 35.48 mm
(EX.) : 34.68 mm
09900-20202: Micrometer (25 – 50 mm)
