9. Wipe off the mounting surface
5 on the engine where the
new filter will be seated with a
clean rag.
10.Smear a little engine oil
around the rubber gasket 6 of
the new oil filter.
11.Screw the new filter by hand
until the filter gasket contacts
the mounting surface (small
resistance will be felt).
NOTE: To tighten the oil filter
properly, it is important to accu-
rately identify the position at
which the filter gasket first con-
tacts the mounting surface.
CAUTION
Using an oil filter with the
wrong design or thread specifi-
cations can cause oil leaks or
engine damage.
Use a genuine SUZUKI oil filter
or an equivalent filter designed
for your motorcycle.
