3D-12 Propeller Shafts:
Driven Bevel Gear
Inspect the driven bevel gear for wear or damage. If any
defects are found, replace the driven bevel gear with a
new one.
Rear Output Shaft Oil Seal
Visually inspect the oil seal for damage, with particular
attention given to the lip.
Replace the oil seal that shows indications of leakage.
Rear Output Shaft Bearing
Inspect the rear output shaft bearings and rear driven
bevel gear bearings for abnormal noise and smooth
rotation. If any defects are found, replace the bearing
with a new one.
Universal Joint
Inspect the universal joint and outer surface of the
bearings for scuffing, wear and damage. If any defects
are found, replace the bearings and universal joint as a
set.
