SPOKE WHEELS (V-STROM 800DE)
WHEEL RIM INSPECTION
Check to see if there is any damage like a
crack, distortion or bend in the wheel rim.
SPOKE INSPECTION
Check the tension of spokes to verify the
tightness of the spoke nipples. The tension
can be checked by hitting the spokes with a
small metal bar. If the spoke nipple is loose,
its sound will be dull.
To tighten the spoke nipples properly,
tighten them equally to the specified torque.
Loosened and overtightened spoke nipples
may cause unequal tension of spokes and
may result in distortion of the wheel rim.
Contact your dealer to perform this service.
WARNING
Damaged rims can allow air to leak,
resulting in reduced running stability,
which can lead to a crash.
If any damage is found, replace the rim.
Do not reuse the damaged rim by repair-
ing or correcting it.
