4.3 Manual bypass damper
The W3/W4 ventilation unit is also available
with a manual summer bypass damper for the
heat exchanger. The bypass of air past the heat
exchanger is a built-in function in the ventila-
tion unit. This function is used to prevent heat
recovery when it is hot during the summer.
Open the bypass damper in the extract air
chamber to activate the bypass. Pull the locking
pin ring and turn the damper lever to its lower
position to do this. If the damper is open, the
electric air heater for reheating is disabled.
When the next heating season begins, close
the bypass damper, so that the locking pin
aligns with the appropriate hole. Winter
mode is marked on the ventilation unit with a
snowflake symbol.

Note. If the bypass damper is not set to win-
ter position, during the heating season, the
supply air temperature may become extremely
cold and the protective function of the venti-
lation unit may shut down the unit.
