The SYNCO Xtalk is a full-duplex wireless intercom headset system designed for clear and stable group communication. This system allows multiple users to communicate simultaneously, making it suitable for various professional applications where real-time, hands-free communication is essential.
The Xtalk system operates on a digital 2.4GHz frequency band, providing full-duplex communication, meaning users can speak and listen at the same time, similar to a phone call, rather than a push-to-talk system. The system is designed to support group communication, with different configurations available depending on the firmware version. Older firmware supports groups of up to 5 people, while newer firmware extends this capability to up to 13 people.
Each headset in the system can be configured with a specific role: Master, Connection Level 1, or Connection Level 2. The Master headset acts as the central hub for communication, while Connection Level 1 headsets connect directly to the Master, and Connection Level 2 headsets connect to Connection Level 1 headsets. This hierarchical structure allows for extended range and more complex group setups. The system features a 3.5mm mic-in port for external microphones and a Type-C port for charging and firmware updates. An indicator light provides visual feedback on the headset's status, such as connection, battery level, and charging.
Key functions are controlled via physical buttons (Button A, Button B, Volume +/-, and a Power On/Off Toggle) and the movement of the boom arm. The boom arm, when moved up or down, can trigger voice prompts (on previous firmware) or simply mute/unmute the microphone (on new firmware).
Power On/Off: The headset is powered on by pushing the toggle switch upwards and off by pushing it downwards.
Master/Remote Settings: Headsets can be designated as Master or Remote (Connection Level 1 or 2 on new firmware). For previous firmware, a long press of Button A for 8 seconds sets a headset as Master. For new firmware, a 5-second long press of Button A sets it as Master. All other headsets are automatically designated as Remotes or Connection Levels.
Pairing: The Xtalk system is pre-paired from the factory (except for X1 models), allowing for immediate use without manual pairing. However, if re-pairing is needed (e.g., to change the Master or build a new group), specific procedures must be followed. It's crucial to ensure all headsets have the same firmware version before pairing. After pairing, all headsets should be restarted to save the configuration.
Volume Settings: Short pressing the Volume +/- buttons increases or decreases the audio volume.
Noise Cancellation: A short press of Button B activates or deactivates the noise cancellation feature, which helps to reduce ambient background noise for clearer communication.
Mute/Unmute: Rotating the boom arm up or down mutes or unmutes the microphone. A voice prompt confirms the change in status.
Domination Mode: Pressing and holding Button B enters Domination Mode. In this mode, all Remote headsets are muted, allowing only the Master to speak, while Remotes can still listen. Releasing Button B exits Domination Mode.
Boost Mode: For situations with poor signal quality, the Boost Mode can be activated to amplify the signal, improving communication clarity and stability. This feature is primarily for the Master headset. Long pressing the Volume - button for 3 seconds cycles through Mode 1 (default), Mode 2, and Mode 3. Modes 2 and 3 are recommended for poor signal conditions. After switching Boost Mode, Connection Level 1 and 2 headsets may need to be re-paired with their upper-level headsets upon powering on. If disconnection occurs, users should wait for automatic reconnection or move closer to the paired headset rather than attempting manual re-pairing.
Real-Time Monitoring: The 3.5mm TRS port allows for real-time monitoring of audio from external devices like cameras or camcorders. This port is for input monitoring only and does not output audio.
Firmware Update: Firmware updates are performed by connecting the headset to a PC via a data-capable USB-C cable. After powering on the headset, long press Volume+ and Volume- for 10 seconds until two "BiBi" sounds are heard. Then, release Volume+ and Volume- and click "Next" in the update software within 3 seconds. The update must be performed on a Windows system, and all headsets in the system need to be updated.
General Care: To ensure longevity and optimal performance, the SYNCO Xtalk should be kept in a dry, clean, dust-free environment. It is important to keep corrosive chemicals, liquids, and heat sources away from the product to prevent mechanical damage. Cleaning should be done with a soft, dry cloth only.
Battery Management: The headset uses a replaceable 1050mAh Li-ion battery. To place or remove the battery, push down the toggle of the battery case and pull the case door outward.
Troubleshooting & Repair: Dropping the headset or subjecting it to external force can cause malfunctions. Users should not attempt to disassemble the product, as this will void the warranty. Any malfunctions or necessary repairs should be handled by authorized technicians.
Warranty: SYNCO products come with a warranty period. Customers are entitled to free replacement or repair for quality defects under normal use within 30 days of receipt. A 12-month limited warranty service covers material or technological defects under normal use. The warranty period begins from the purchase date for new, unused products by the first end-user. The warranty does not cover faults resulting from inappropriate use, artificial damage (e.g., crash, squeeze, scratch, soaking), unauthorized modifications, inconsistent product codes, or consumable accessories like cables, wind muffs, and batteries. Faults due to force majeure (e.g., fire, flood) are also excluded. For warranty claims, customers should contact their local agent or SYNCO customer service via email, providing their sales receipt and warranty certificate as proof of purchase. Chargeable service will apply if the product is out of warranty coverage or if documentation is missing.
