buildupinsidethefans.Thiswillreducetheefciency.
Thefanscanbedismountedbylooseningtheblackknobswhichattachtheracktotheunitsinnerwall
section.Thecompletefanrackcanthenbepulledoutafteralltheattachedfastcouplingstotheelectric
wireshavebeendisconnected(gure9).Thefansmaybecleanedwithaclothorasoftbrush.Donot
usewater.Whitespiritcanbeusedtoremoveaccumulationswhichareotherwisedifculttoremove.
Allowdryingproperlybeforeremounting.
Thefanmotorbearingsarelifetimelubricatedandshouldnotbere-greased.

5.3.4CheckingtheHotwaterheatingbattery
Afterlongperiodsofoperation(usuallyseveralyears)dustmayhavedepositedonthesurfaceofthe
battery.Thismayreducebatteriescapacity.Thebatterycanbecleanedwithapressurewasherwith
mistingjets,orwithcompressedair.Cleaningshouldbecarriedoutcarefullysoasnottodamagethe
batteriesaluminiumns.Onceayearthebatterywatercircuitneedstobeventedtomaintainthe
batteriescapacity.
5.3.5CheckingtheElectricalheatingbattery
Afterlongperiodoftimedustandpollutantscanbuildupontheheatingrods.Thiscancauseunpleasant
odorsandintheworstcasere.Cleanwithcompressedair,vacuumorbrush.Theheatingpowercanbe
measured,intheelectricalconnectionbox,beforetheheatingseason.Bylargediscrepancieseachrod
needstobemeasured.Theautomaticsafetyfunctionneedstobetestedandveried.
5.3.6CleaningExtractlouvresandInletdiffusers
Thesystemsuppliestreatedoutdoorairtothebuildingandextractstheusedindoorairviatheductsystem
anddiffusers/louvres.Diffusersandlouvresaremountedinceilings/wallsinbedroom,livingroom,wet
rooms,WCetc.Removediffusersandlouvresandwashinhotsoapywaterifrequired.Diffusers/louvres
mustbeputbackwiththeiroriginalsettingsandpositionsinordernottounbalancethesystem.
5.3.7CheckingtheOutdoorairintake
Leavesandpollutioncouldpluguptheairintakegrilleandreducetheunit’scapacity.Checktheairintake
grilleatleasttwiceayearandcleanifnecessary.
5.3.8CheckingtheDuctsystem
Dustandgreasesettlementsmaybuildupintheductsystemevenifltersarechangedregularly.This
willreducetheefciencyoftheinstallation.Theductsshouldthereforebecleaned/changedwhen
necessary.Steelductscanbecleanedbypullingabrush,soakedinhotsoapywaterthroughtheductvia
diffuser/louvreopeningsorspecialinspectionhatchesintheductsystem(iftted).
