Setting up
a call
This section describes how to make a call from your
T2010
II or your T2015II.
1 Select the channel you wish to use for the call, as
previously described.
2 Check the channel is free. Your radios squelch
feature may prevent you from hearing certain activity
on the channel, so make sure the BUSY indicator is
not glowing.
3 Lift the microphone, squeeze the PTT key and
identify yourself and the person you wish to contact.
4 When you receive a reply, use the microphone to
converse, as described below.
Using the
Microphone
and the PTT
key
The PTT key on the side of the microphone switches the
radio between receive and transmit mode.
Press the PTT key to talk, release it to listen.
The TX indicator glows while the radio is transmitting.
The Transmit
Timer
Your T2010
II or T2015II may be programmed with a
timer that limits the length of transmissions. The radio
will sound a warning before it stops transmitting.
