Use the scan features (if it is programmed on your radio)
to check for valid activity on a number of channels.
To Scan To set the radio to scan a predefined list of channels for
activity:
1 Place the microphone on-hook.
2 Press the Scan () key.
When the radio detects valid traffic, it will halt scanning
and pause on the active channel. Once the activity
ceases, the radio will resume scanning.
You may lift the microphone at any time during scanning
to make or reply to a call.
To cancel scanning, either:
• Press the Scan () key, or
• Select a channel.

Primary and Secondary channels can be configured
using the radio programming software.
• These channels are scanned more often than the
normal scan channels.
• Even if the scan is locked onto a normal scan channel,
the priority channels are scanned frequently for
activity. However, if the scan is locked onto a primary
priority channel, scanning will not recommence until
the activity on the channel ceases.
