14.The product is not cooking evenly. a. The upper platen or lower grill surface is
not clean and/or has carbon buildup.
a. Follow closing procedures to prop-
erly clean the upper platen and the
lower grill
surface and to remove
carbon buildup.
b. There is a grease or carbon buildup on
the bottom of the upper platen handles.
b. Follow closing procedures to
properly clean and remove carbon
buildup from the
bottom of the platen handles.
c. The release sheet is worn. c. Replace release sheet.
d. Release sheet may be too loose, caus-
ing poor heat transfer into product.
d. Readjust the sheet to ensure a
snug fit. It should be tight enough to
prevent creasing, sliding, or
catching by the squeegee. See
guide for proper release sheet
installation.
e. The product is out of specification. e. Product must be within
specification (proper
thickness, shape, etc.).
f. The platen is not level. f. Call a Taylor service technician.
g. The preset gap height is incorrect. g. Call a Taylor service technician.
h. Air pressure is not high enough. h. Call a Taylor service technician.
