The
slot
between
pins
6
and
7
identifies
the
FG
5010
as
a
member
of
the
TM
5000
family
.
Insert
a
barrier
between
pins
23
and
24
of
the
power
module
jack
the
Sine
Shaper
board
plugs
into
to
prevent
noncompatible
plug
-
ins
from
be
ing
inserted
in
slots
wired
for
the
FG
5010.
This
protects
the
plug
-
in
if
specialized
connections
are
made
to
that
compart
ment
.
Consult
the
power
module
manual
for
further
informa
tion
.
Signal
inputs
,
outputs
,
or
other
specialized
connections
may
be
made
to
the
rear
interface
connectors
as
shown
in
the
input
-
output
assignments
illustration
(
Fig
.
7-10
)
.
These
connections
are
not
factory
wired
.
A
wire
kit
,
Tektronix
Part
No.
020-0701-00
,
provides
the
wires
and
instructions
for
making
the
necessary
connections
.

connections
.
Making
Connections
Disassemble
the
instrument
to
gain
access
to
the
front
of
the
Interconnect
board
.
Disconnect
the
cables
from
the
front
panel
bnc
connectors
to
the
Interconnect
board
.
See
the
adjustment
location
illustrations
in
the
pullout
pages
at
the
rear
of
this
manual
for
the
location
of
signal
inputs
and
out
puts
on
the
Interconnect
and
Sine
Shaper
boards
.
The
cable
connecting
J1812
,
on
the
Interconnect
board
,
to
the
front
panel
TRIG
OUTPUT
connector
may
be
left
connected
.
Ei
ther
the
trigger
output
or
trigger
complement
output
may
be
routed
to
the
front
panel
through
J1015
on
the
Sine
Shaper
board
.
The
other
output
may
be
routed
to
the
rear
interface
output
.
These
outputs
may
be
used
simultaneously
.
Use
of
the
rear
interface
inputs
and
outputs
causes
some
degratation
in
signal
performance
.
A
lead
is
provided
to
bring
out
to
the
rear
interface
a
signal
that
remains
high
during
the
time
the
loop
clamp
is
disabled
.
For
N
BURST
,
this
time
is
roughly
equivalent
(
de
pending
on
frequency
)
to
the
length
of
the
burst
,
less
the
last
half
of
the
last
cycle
.
To
connect
this
wire
,
remove
the
shield
on
the
Loop
1
board
located
over
J1210
as
shown
in
the
adjustment
location
illustration
located
in
the
pullout
pages
in
the
rear
of
this
manual
.
Run
this
wire
through
the
hole
in
the
shield
over
J1210
,
forward
across
the
edge
con
nectors
on
the
Interconnect
board
,
and
back
along
the
out
side
of
the
Sine
Shaper
board
to
the
single
pin
spare
connector
as
shown
in
the
adjustment
location
illustration
.
After
all
connections
are
made
,
reinstall
the
boards
.

trigger

or
trigger
complement
output
(

phase
difference
)
depending
on
the
cable
connection
.
Both
signals
can
be
used
simultaneously
;
one
signal
at
the
rear
interface
and
the
other
at
the
front
panel
.

This
is
the

circuit
for
the

trigger

burst

timed
