Why ground level controls on my Tesco Scissor Lifts won't operate with the engine running?
    • B
      Brian BrownAug 20, 2025
The ground level controls might not operate due to several reasons. The vehicle may not be in lift mode, or the emergency stop could be activated. Other potential causes include a tripped circuit breaker, a blown fuse, a defective solenoid coil or relay, a damaged control switch, damaged wiring, a bad ground, or damaged Power Take Off (P.T.O.) or pump drive components. Check the vehicle's lift mode and deactivate the emergency stop. Reset the circuit breaker or replace the blown fuse. Inspect and replace any defective solenoid coil, relay, damaged P.T.O. or pump drive components. Examine and repair or replace the control switch. Check for damaged wiring or poor grounding.

Why upper controls on my Tesco Scissor Lifts won't operate with the vehicle's engine running?
    • B
      Brian OrtizAug 21, 2025
Several factors can prevent the upper controls from operating. The vehicle may not be in lift mode, the enable switch might not be depressed, or the stabilizers may not be fully deployed. Also, the emergency stop could be activated, a circuit breaker might be tripped, or a fuse could be blown. Other possible causes include a damaged control switch, a defective enable relay, a defective solenoid coil or relay, damaged wiring, a bad ground, or damaged Power Take Off (P.T.O.) or pump drive components. Check the vehicle's lift mode, depress the enable switch and ensure stabilizers are fully deployed. Deactivate the emergency stop. Reset the circuit breaker or replace the blown fuse. Inspect and replace any damaged components.

What to do if stabilizers on Tesco Scissor Lifts will not retract?
    • L
      Lori OsbornAug 23, 2025
If the stabilizers won't retract, the vehicle might not be in lift mode, or the Hi-Lift may not be fully lowered or stowed. A tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse could also be the cause. Other potential issues include a defective relay, a defective Hi-Lift or stabilizer interlock switch, a damaged control switch, a defective valve cartridge, damaged wiring, a bad ground, or damaged Power Take Off (P.T.O.) or pump drive components. Check the vehicle's lift mode and ensure the Hi-Lift is fully lowered or stowed. Reset the circuit breaker or replace the blown fuse. Inspect and replace any defective components. Check for damaged wiring or poor grounding.

What to do if stabilizers on my Tesco Scissor Lifts will not extend?
    • L
      laurablackburnAug 26, 2025
If the stabilizers do not extend, the vehicle may not be in lift mode, or the emergency stop could be activated. A tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse might also be the cause. Other possible reasons include a defective solenoid coil or relay, damaged wiring, a bad ground, a damaged control switch, a defective valve cartridge, or damaged Power Take Off (P.T.O.) or pump drive components. Check the vehicle's lift mode and deactivate the emergency stop. Reset the circuit breaker or replace the blown fuse. Inspect and replace any defective components. Check for damaged wiring or poor grounding.

Why is my Tesco Scissor Lifts Hi-lift unit racked or twisted during raising or after reaching required height?
    • M
      Mckenzie ClarkAug 27, 2025
Racking or twisting during raising or after reaching the required height can occur if the maximum load capacity is exceeded or if the load is off-center on the work platform. It can also be caused by air trapped in the lift cylinder, a misadjusted or faulty counter balance hold valve, a leak in one of the lift cylinders, a low hydraulic fluid level, or a faulty hi-lift scissors center pivot pin, attach pin, or roller axle. Ensure the load does not exceed the maximum capacity and is centered on the work platform. Bleed the air from the lift cylinder. Adjust or replace the faulty counter balance hold valve. Inspect and repair any leaks in the lift cylinder. Check and refill hydraulic fluid to the proper level. Inspect and replace any faulty pins or axles.

Why is my Tesco Scissor Lifts Hi-lift unit racking or twisting during lowering?
    • J
      Jimmy GreenAug 30, 2025
If the Hi-lift unit racks or twists during lowering, this could be due to an off-center load on the work platform, air trapped in the lift cylinder, a misadjusted or faulty counter balance hold valve, or uneven holding valve release pressure. Center the load on the work platform. Bleed the air from the lift cylinder. Adjust or replace the faulty counter balance hold valve. Check and adjust holding valve release pressure.

What causes overheated hydraulic oil in Tesco Scissor Lifts?
    • D
      David WilsonSep 1, 2025
Overheated hydraulic oil can be caused by a hydraulic oil level that is too low, hydraulic oil that is dirty and deteriorated, hydraulic oil viscosity that is too light for the climate, hydraulic oil continuously flowing over the relief valve, relief valve pressure set too low or too high, or a worn pump or internal damage to the pump. Check and refill hydraulic oil level. Replace dirty and deteriorated hydraulic oil. Use the appropriate viscosity hydraulic oil for the climate. Adjust relief valve settings. Check and adjust relief valve pressure settings. Inspect and repair or replace any worn or damaged pump.

Why is my Tesco Scissor Lifts Hyd. oil pump noisy?
    • D
      Daniel GomezSep 3, 2025
A noisy hydraulic oil pump can result from a low hydraulic oil level, hydraulic oil viscosity that is too heavy, a restricted hose or collapsed suction hose, an air leak in the suction hose, hydraulic oil temperature that is too high, or the pump pulling air through the input shaft’s seal. Check and refill hydraulic oil level. Use the correct viscosity hydraulic oil. Clear any restrictions or replace the collapsed suction hose. Inspect and repair air leaks in the suction hose. Allow the hydraulic system to cool down. Inspect and replace worn seals.

What causes excessive foaming of hydraulic oil in Tesco Scissor Lifts?
    • P
      Patricia MclaughlinSep 5, 2025
Excessive foaming of hydraulic oil can be caused by a hydraulic oil level that is too low, an air leak on the section hose, or using an incorrect type or grade of hydraulic oil. Check and refill hydraulic oil level. Inspect and repair air leaks in the suction hose. Use the correct type or grade of hydraulic oil.
