• External trigger
• Pre-divider
The frequency, supplied externally, is shown in the
display. ”Hold” is shown in the display for as long
as you feed in an external signal (the STAND BY
function is inactive).
You can switch back to the external generator as
soon as no other external signals are measured at
the trigger input. Once you have switched back to
the internal generator the default value (16.66
Hz/1000 rpm) comes into effect again. The STAND
BY function is reactivated.
Pre-divider
(only with an externally connected trig-
ger input - not with the mechanical measuring
head)
If the external trigger pulse of the moving object
(e.g. on account of a gear multiple) has a much
higher frequency than the rpm of the actual object
to be measured you can match the externally fed
frequency based on the ”pre-divider” function.
You enter the pre-divider mode by pressing
<xn/÷n>. The division ratio is shown in the display
during the pre-divider mode. The division ratio
changes up to 1:64 when the keys <higher> or
<lower> are activated and the flash frequency also
changes.
With an active pre-divider the external frequency
can be only so high that the divided flash frequen-
cy of 333 Hz is not exceeded.
You will return to the normal display mode by pres-
sing the key <xn/÷n>.
"No" in the display shows that the divider does not
correspond to "1".
The pre-divider is set to ”1” when the instrument is
switched off.
