Overview

The Teufel STEREO M 2 is an active loudspeaker set consisting of two loudspeakers: one primary and one secondary. This system is designed for high-quality audio playback via various sources, including internet streaming, Bluetooth®, and wired connections.

Function Description:

The STEREO M 2 active loudspeaker set enables audio playback from a wide range of sources. Users can stream audio via WiFi, Bluetooth®, or connect external players using AUX IN or OPTICAL IN. The primary loudspeaker houses the main controls and connections, while the secondary loudspeaker works in conjunction with it to create a stereo sound experience. The system supports various internet services like TuneIn Radio, Spotify® Connect, AirPlay 2, and Chromecast built-in™, offering extensive streaming options.

Usage Features:

The STEREO M 2 offers flexible setup and operation.

  • Loudspeaker Setup: The loudspeakers can be placed on a stable, level surface or mounted with a wall bracket. The primary and secondary loudspeakers can be connected either wirelessly via a radio signal or with an optical loudspeaker cable (not included). The Teufel Home App is essential for initial setup, network configuration, and defining the L/R position in a stereo configuration.
  • Controls: The primary loudspeaker features an operating panel with buttons for various functions:
    • Source Selection (5): Cycles through AUX IN, WiFi, and OPTICAL IN.
    • Bluetooth® (6): Sets Bluetooth® as the playback source, initiates pairing, and can delete the Bluetooth® list (8-second press).
    • Previous/Next Track (7, 8): Skips tracks in Bluetooth® and WiFi modes.
    • Presets (9): Saves and selects radio stations, playlists, or tracks.
    • Power/Playback Control (10): Switches the device on/off (4-second press), pauses/restarts playback, and mutes/unmutes audio.
    • Touch Wheel (11): Adjusts volume by turning clockwise (increase) or counter-clockwise (decrease).
  • Indicators:
    • Source Display (12): Shows the current playback source (AUX, WiFi, OPT).
    • Network Indicator (13): Displays the quality of the internet connection (no access, weak, average, strong, Ethernet).
    • Status LEDs (14): Indicate various device statuses like mute, Bluetooth® pairing, etc.
  • Connectivity:
    • AUX IN (19): For analogue connection of external players via stereo cinch cable.
    • OPTICAL IN (20): For optical digital audio output from external players (e.g., TV) via TOSLINK connector.
    • SECONDARY (21) / PRIMARY (22): Connections for the loudspeaker cable between the primary and secondary units.
    • LAN (23): For wired internet connection to a router.
    • USB (type C) (24) / SERVICE (type C) (25): For software updates.
    • POWER (26, 27): Mains power connections for both loudspeakers.
  • Internet Connection: The primary loudspeaker can connect to the internet wirelessly via WiFi or with a LAN cable. The Teufel Home App facilitates WiFi setup.
  • Auto Standby & Auto Off: The loudspeakers automatically switch to standby after 5 minutes without an input signal. An Auto Off timer can also be set via the Teufel Home App.
  • Proximity Sensing: The primary loudspeaker has a proximity sensor that activates button LEDs when a hand is detected nearby, and turns them off when the hand moves away. This feature can be activated/deactivated via the Teufel Home App.
  • Bluetooth®: Supports pairing with up to 7 external players, which are automatically reconnected when Bluetooth® is set as the playback source.
  • Internet Services: Integrated support for TuneIn Radio, Spotify® Connect, AirPlay 2, and Chromecast built-in™ for diverse audio streaming.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: The loudspeakers should be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn stains, a cloth slightly moistened with mild soapy water can be used, followed by drying with a soft cloth. Moisture should not be allowed to get inside the device.
  • Software Updates: If connected to WiFi, software updates are installed automatically. Updates can also be manually installed via the USB (24) and SERVICE (25) connections. Automatic updates can be scheduled via the Teufel Home App.
  • Factory Reset: All user settings and data can be deleted and reset to factory settings by pressing the RESET button (17) with a sharp object.
