NOTE:McCauleyrequiresthatallbladesbepainted.Paintandprimerprotectbladesfromerosion
andultravioletradiation.McCauleyrecommendsSherwin-Williamsproducts,butanyindustry
equivalentisacceptable.Thefollowingprocedureisrecommendedtorepairortouch-upthe
propellerpaint,butanyprocedureachievingsimilarresultsisacceptable.
NOTE:Repaintingtheentirepropellerbladeorthepropellerassemblyshouldonlybeaccomplished
atanFAAapprovedPart145PropellerRepairStationorinternationalequivalent.Without
thepropertrainingandequipment,thestaticbalanceofthepropellercanbeaffectedbythe
applicationofpaint.
NOTE:Thepropellerfacesideshouldbepaintedatblackunlessotherwisenoted.
A.PaintandPrimerMixtures.
NOTE:McCauleyrecommendsSherwin-Williamsproducts,butanyindustryequivalentis
acceptable.Thefollowinglistofpaintsarerecommended,butanyequivalentpaintthat
willachievesimilarresultsisacceptable.
NOTE:Alldryingtimesarebasedon77°F(25°C)and45%relativehumidity.
CAUTION:Nopaintorprimerisallowedinthebladeretentionarea.
(1)Primershouldbetackfreein10to20minutesandcanberecoatedin30to60minutes.
(2)Allowfordifferentdryingtimesatdifferenttemperaturesandhumiditylevels.
