TROUBLE SHOOTING CHART
SYMPTOM: Engine won’t turn over
1. Bat tery dead
2. PTO le ver en gaged. (Se rial No. 1001-1641)
3. PTO Elec tric Clutch switch on. (Se rial No. 1642-)
4. De fec tive wir ing, bro ken or loose con nec tions.
5. De fec tive starter or starter so le noid.
6. Safety switches out of ad just ment.
1. Check bat tery, charge or re place.
2. Dis en gage PTO le ver.
3. Turn PTO switch off.
4. Vi sually check, or check with test light for con ti -
nu ity on the cir cuits.
5. Check by us ing a jumper from the bat tery ter mi -
nal to the so le noid ter mi nal.
6. Ad just switches so they are fully de pressed.
SYMPTOM: Engine difficult to start, or runs poorly.
1. Fuel valve partly closed
2. Fuel fil ter dirty.
3. Ig ni tion sys tem, de fec tive wires, plugs, etc.
(Gas en gine only.)
4. Air cleaner dirty.
5. Wa ter or dirt in the fuel.
6. En gine run ning too hot.
7. Choke out of ad just ment.(Gas en gine only.)
8. Air in fuel sys tem. (Die sel only)
9. De fec tive fuel pump.
10. Fuel shut-off knob pulled out.
(Die sel with elec tric clutch only)
1. Open fuel valve all the way.
2. Re place fuel fil ter.
3. Check plugs, wires etc.(Gas en gine only.)
4. Re place air cleaner el e ment.
5. Drain and re fill with fresh clean fuel.
6. Clean en gine screen and fins on air cooled en -
gine. Check cool ant level on wa ter cooled en -
gine and clean ra di a tor screen.
7. Ad just choke to close prop erly.
8. Bleed air out of fuel sys tem.
9. Check fuel pump.
10. Push fuel shut-off knob in.
