If only one call send works, check that the
battery has 9 volts on it and the polarity is correct
when installed. If either call send will work from one
side of the unit but the same call send will not run
the unit from the opposite end, the receiver eye on
the shroud could be bad or the harness connect-
ing the receiver eye to the board could have come
unplugged. The harness is keyed and should only
connect to the eye or board in one direction. Do not
force the harness on backwards.
The call sends must be programmed or
have the same remote ID as the unit control board.
Verify that both call sends and board have the same
ID. If not, make the two call sends the same and
then change the board ID to match the call sends
and press the learn button as the call send is de-
pressed. See the programming the remote section
of the installation manual for more details.
A singe bad receiver eye could also cause
both call sends not to work. Unplug one eye and
check operation of the unit with both call sends. If
the unit now runs the unplugged eye is bad. Un-
plug the harness from the board and reconnect the
second harness and recheck.
If neither call send works but the seat
pendant control does work after above checks, the
main control board will need replaced.
Symptom: Unit will not run by the pendant control
but will with call sends.
The pendant control could have come
unplugged from the control board. Reconnect as
necessary.
The pendant control switch is defective.
Verify operation of the board by shorting out the
common connector to either directional terminals on
the switch.
The main control board is defective if the
unit will not run after all of the above checks.
