Chapter 14. Print Boards
There are two build plates in the UP300D package.
14.1 Perf Glass Boards
The Perf Glass Board is the one with many small holes on one side. The perforated
surface has the strongest surface adhesion when used with raft setting. It is made for
printing materials with high shrinkage ratio that tend to warp during printing and
frequently used in conjunction with the HT (High Temp) extruder. It is highly
recommended to use the Perf Glass Boards for the following materials: ABS, PC,
Nylon, PP and etc.
14.2 Flex Glass Boards
The Flex board is made by adding a layer of plastic sheet onto the Perforated
surface. (Although extra layer of material is added, the total thickness of Flex Glass
Board is the same as Perf Glass Board). It is made for materials that has low
shrinkage ratio. It is recommended to use the Flex Glass Board for the following
materials: PLA, PETG, PET, TPU and etc.
14.3 Glass Surface
Both build plates have the glass side that can be used for printing. It is similar to the
Flex board in terms of suitable material. Users can use the Glass side and print with
raft printing option turned off to obtain a flat smooth surface. However the machine is
needed to be leveled mechanically and the nozzle height may need to be adjusted
(offset) for the optimal result.
Suitable Materials:
ABS, PC, Nylon, PP and etc.
Suitable Materials:
PLA, PETG, PET, TPU and etc.
*Flex/ Perf Glass Board: Glass boards could break if dropped. Please handle them with
care.
