Section 6: Final Setup & Tuning Tips
• Titan Dynamics strongly recommends the use of Arduplane for all our models. If
you encounter an issue in flight, the data logs Ardupilot creates are invaluable for
finding the root cause of any issue and increasing future chances of success.
• Give all control surfaces +- 30 degrees or more throw.
• CG is marked under the wing and should be adhered to within ±10mm.
• Add duct tape or other abrasion resistant material to bottom of the fuselage to
increase durability if landing on rough surfaces.
• Use the included ESC mounting plates for tidiest wiring.
• If your goal is long range, aim for maximum antenna separation by using the wing
bays to mount your VTX and RX.
• Install your propellers such that the left is rotating CCW (looking forward as the
pilot) and right is rotating CW. This gives a small performance boost over the other
rotation.
• Set AUTOTUNE_LEVEL to 8 prior to doing an autotune on Ardupilot for ideal flight
characteristics. PIDs will vary from setup to setup, especially with increased
weight. A good starting point for both roll and pitch PIDs are: P: 0.25, I: 0.125, D:
0.002, FF: 0.125
• You can comfortably budget 3-4kg of total battery + payload weight, given your
power system can produce nearly a 1:1 power to weight ratio or more.
An ideal Falcon V2 setup for maximum range and endurance:
• Arducustom running on H743 or better FC
• Dragonlink for RC + Telemetry (> 100km capable)
• 1.2ghz 1500mw Partom VTX (> 100km capable)
• Lumenier 51a ESCs with telemetry (for RPM/Temp display on the OSD)
• Samsung 50E 6S8P 21700 40Ah LI-Ion
• Brotherhobby T5 640kv + 12x8E/EP APC props | Brotherhobby 2816 620kv +
11x8E/EP APC props
• Airspeed sensor for best speed measurements and TECS behavior
