Cold Weather Starting
The c oach is equipped with o cold weather starting fluid cup,
lo c ated on the top of the engine blower housing. If temperature is
below 40 degrees (4 degrees C) it moy be necessary to use starting flu id
c
ap sule s. Use one 7 c.c. capsule ot temperature above Odegrees F (-18
degrees C), or two ot lower temperatures . DO NOT USE MORE THAN
TWO FLU ID CAPSULES. To use capsules, lift cover of sto rt i ng fluid cup ,
insert capsu
le , force down over pointed tube in cup ond squeeze unt il
oll fluid enters cup . Remove copsule ond st ort engine .

IRE WARNING
Starting fluid used in the capsules is high ly i nflommoble ,
poisonous and is on anaesthetic: Do not smolce while using or
handling capsules , ond lceep owoy from flame or high t emp-
eratures . A void inhaling fumes produced by star t ing fluid .
Pressurized Ether Start System
(Optional)
A pressur i zed cold weat her ether starting system is avai l ab le for use
in extremely cold we ather. The system is operated by a guarded switch
on the rear of the switch panel to the left of the dr i ver . The switch is
wired
to the starting circuit and becomes inoperative after engine is
running and fue l pressure reaches 9 lbs . This prevents ether i nject i on
during eng i ne operation .
Warm-Up

Stopping Engine
1. Appl y park i ng broke and place tran smi ss ion s hift lever in neutra l.
2. I dl e engine for about 30 seconds, then move the "MASTER" switch to
the " OFF" posit io n.
On turbo -charge d engines , before shutting the engine down .
allow it to idle for 5 minutes . This w ill ensure tha t the turb ine speed
hos dropped . DO NOT SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN DIRECTLY FROM
HIGH RPM.
