IMPORTANT
When
the
"EMERGENCY STOP"
switch

been

engine

shoulder
engages
cam
lock.
The
emergency
stop
is
to
be
used
ONLY
when
pushing
the
"MASTER"
swit
ch
foils
to
stop
the
engine
. Do
not
restart
until
the
reason
for
loss
of
control
hos
been
corrected
.
Booster
Battery
Starting
CAUTION:
Any
procedure other
than
the
following
could result
in:
( 1) Personal
injur
y caused
by
electrolyte squirting
out
of the
battery
vents.
(2) Personal
injury
or
property
damage
due
to
battery
explosion.
(3)
Do
mage
due
to
the
charging
system of the booster vehicle or
of
the
immobilized
vehicle.
DO NOT
attemp
t to
jump
start
o
veh
icle
having
a
frozen
bottery
because
the
battery
may
rupture
or
explode
.
If
a
frozen
battery
is
suspected
,
examine
o
il
fill
vents
on
the
battery
.
If
ice
can
be
seen
,
or
if
the
electrolyte
fluid
cannot
be
seen
,
do
not
attempt
to
start
the vehicle
wi
th
jumper
cable
s
as
l
ong
a s
the
battery
remain
s
frozen.

be

Connecting
Booster
Battery
and
Jumper
Cables
( 1)
Set
parking
brake
, turn off lights,
heater
and
other
loods
. Remove
12 Volt
leads
ot
battery
.
(2) Remove
vent
cops
from
both
the
booster
and
the
di
scharged
ba
tt
er
i
es
.
Loy
o cloth
over
the
open
vent
wells
of
each
battery
.
These two actions
help
reduce
t
he
possibility
of
explosion which
is
always
present
when
connecting
a "li
ve
"
booster
battery
to a
"
dead
"
battery.

Attach
one
end
of
one
jumper
cable
to
the
positive termi
nal
of
booster
battery
(
identified
by
o
red
color
"+"
or
"P"
on
the
battery
case
, post
or
clamp
),
ond
the
other
end
of
the
some
coble
to

positive
terminal
of
the
discharged
battery.
DO NOT
permit

icles to touch
each
other
as
th,s could
establish

ground
connect

counteract
the

of
this
procedure
.
