Anode replacement
A sacrificial anode protects the outboard motor from electrolytic corrosion. Anode is
located on the gear case, cylinder etc.. When the anode is eroded more than 1/3 of origi-
nal size, replace it.

Notes
 Never grease or paint the anode.
 At each inspection re-tighten the anode attaching bolt. As it is likely to be subjected to electrolytic
corrosion.
*1 : PTT model
*2 : Manual tilt model
*3 : Remove CD unit to access the anode.
