Mechanical Driving Faults
This section outlines a few typical mechanical driving faults that can be encountered.
System
Phenomena
Set\Clear Condition
Brakes
Noisy brakes and erratic
vehicle movement
Check parking brake release.
Check brake pedal movement.
Steering
Hard steering
Grease steering box
Free play in steering wheel
Tighten steering linkage joints
Shifter
Shifter lever is stuck in gear
Try releasing the lever while driving at low speed with low traction
Shifter lever pops out of gear
Ensure proper engagement by driving at low speed while engaging
the shifter
Differential
Lock
Diff lock does not engage
Engagement should be performed while driving with minimum load
Diff lock does not release
Try changing drive direction and release while driving with
minimum load.
If equipped with a pneumatic locker, make sure air compressor is working properly
