3.5 PREPARING LATHE FOR TRANSPORT
Whenever moving the lathe about (e.g. into another shop), proceed according
to the TRANSPORT INFO Sheet 300370 included in the machine’s docu-
mentation.
3.5.1 Mechanical Locking of Lathe’s Mobile Units
What to do ? Notes
Locking See Fig. 306009f1 / 306009f2.
Put the yellow locking pieces in
place to lock:
− the frontwork unit;
− the pickoff spindle.
i.e. lock Z3 and Z4 axes.
The first locking is carried out ex
works.
For the next, use Servicing Tools
(306110).
. Caution !
Lock as above whenever moving the machine about.
Do not remove the transport locks until the lathe is properly located.
Note:
Before removing the lathe, clean it according to Para: PERIODICAL
CLEANING in your OPERATION & MAINTENANCE instructions.
