stand-offsinsidethecovercontactthesideplate.
Note:Donotovertightenthebolts.
AdjustingtheTraction-DriveBelt
1.Removethebelt-covermountingfastenersand
thebeltcovertoexposethebelt(Figure43).

A.Loosentheidler-pulleymountingnutand
pivottheidlerpulleyclockwiseagainstthe
backsideofthebeltuntilthedesiredbelt
tensionisattained(Figure44).
Important:Donotover-tensionthebelt.
B.Tightenthenuttolocktheadjustment.

stand-offsinsidethecovercontactthesideplate.
Note:Donotovertightenthebolts.
AdjustingtheDifferentialBelt
1.Removetheboltssecuringthefrontandrear
sectionsofthedifferentialcovertothedifferential
housingandslidethecoversectionsawayto
exposethebelt.
2.Checkthetensionbypressingthebeltatmid
spanofthepulleys(Figure45)with22to26N
(5to6lb)offorce.
Note:Thebeltshoulddeect6mm(1/4inch).
