11.Settheupperspanofthechainintoplaceonthe
trencherboom,thenwrapthechainaroundthe
rollerattheendoftheboom.
12.Threadtheadjustmentboltintotheboomandturn
itinuntilthereis1-1/2to2-1/2inches(3.8to6.3
cm)ofslackinthechainonthebottomspan.
13.Threadthejamnutdowntheadjustingboltand
tightenitsecurelyagainsttheboom.
14.Torquethe2boltsandnutssecuringtheboomto
135to165ft-lb(183to223N-m).

Beforeoperatingthetrencher,installandpositionthe
spoilsaugertoworkcorrectlywiththediggingchain
congurationyouareusing.Failuretopositionthe
spoilsaugercorrectlymaydamagethetrencher.
1.Toinstallandpositiontheauger,usetheboltand
nutremovedfromtheaugerpreviouslytosecureit
inthecorrectholes,asdescribedinthefollowinglist:

•4inch(10cm)chainconguration
Usingtheholeclosesttotheaugerbladeinthe
endoftheaugerwithtwoholes,connectthe
augertotheinnerholeontheshaft.
